| Health Benefits of Honey
Perhaps your parents failed to tell you about this, but it has long been known that honey has the healing effect in everything from sore throats to allergies and wounds. Now, a recent research shows that honey may increase the level of antioxidants.
In a study, 25 people were told to eat between 4 to 10 tablespoons of honey every day for a month, the amount varying depending on their weight. They can eat honey in almost every way, but it cannot be baked or dissolved in tea. Most of them eat honey straight from the spoon. After a month the level of antioxidants had arisen.
Honey is composed of sugars like glucose and fructose and minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium chlorine, sulphur, iron and phosphate.
If you have allergies, honey can be beneficial. If you eat honey that is local to your area, it may help prevent your seasonal allergies. Bees use the pollen from local plants and eventually it ends up in your honey.
Honey may also be good for your skin. It has the ability to attract water. It is also safe for sensitive skin. You can use it as a moisturizing mask for your skin as well as your hair. To use it as a conditioner, mix the honey with olive oil. Be sure to wash your hair thoroughly before you go outside.
In international terms, China is by far the largest honey producer. The next largest producer is UK, Argentina and Ukraine.
